Hello and thanks for reading the first post for Lessons in Engineering Leadership! Here’s how this works: every other Wednesday morning you’ll receive an email just like this one – something you can consume in under five minutes. Thank you to the 335
Love this Kelly, the first couple are the hardest ones to get out but asking for feedback is just. I’m going to follow along as it’s very similar to my newsletter so going to learn from you as we go! :)
Love this. Leadership work is hard work, and hard conversations as well. Sometimes I think people avoid feedback because it is uncomfortable, and if the culture isn't there to support tough conversations, the team can't move forward. On the other hand, people who are jumping on giving "honest feedback" might be doing it in an unkind way. There a balance that needs to be achieved through mutual respect and understanding from developing relational skills in teams.
I love that you're including books that you're reading, it shows personal development and it also shows your character. Well done!

Love this! Feedback is a gift but making sure recipients are in a safe space to receive it is important!
